Which plasterboard screw should be used to attach plasterboard to h2 blue structural treated pine framing? Are there specific screws or would regular zinc coated plasterboard screws do? Just worried about corrosion. Many thanks in advance!
Hi @G541,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
Screws like these Zenith 30mm Needle Point Gold Passivated Plasterboard Screws are what you would use. They are specifically designed for this purpose and they come in a variety of lengths for different applications.
As the screws will be fully encapsulated in plaster and then painted, there is little to no risk of corrosion unless you have a major moisture issue.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
Thanks Jacob, so the h2 wood treatment chemical won’t affect the screw?
Hi @G541,
No, it won't affect the screws. These screws and H2-treated timber are exactly what is used in all homes, offices and buildings that use plasterboard.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
