We bought an old beauty. Double brick house with wooden floors. Our guess is this house would be built in 1950s.
A photo attached.
How do we treat the wooden floors?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Not_a_handy_per. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about rejuvenating timber floors.
The coating on the cypress pine has worn through. While you could temporarily patch this area to make the wear less noticeable, the best long-term solution would be to sand off the old, yellowed coating entirely and re-coat the timber with a modern polyurethane floor coating. This will restore the floor's appearance and provide better protection against future wear.
Here are a couple of helpful guides: How to sand timber floors and How to seal timber floors.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Congratulations on your new home @Not_a_handy_per and welcome to the community. We're pleased to have you join us at this exciting time.
Your floorboards look in great condition apart from the wear. Once they are sanded and sealed they will look fantastic. It's so much easier to do it before you get all your furniture in so I would certainly also be recommending you do it before moving in.
We look forward to seeing how else you are going to make your mark on your new home.
