Hi all
is this termite on my brick wall?
Does anyone know what is this? And what should I do? Thanks
Hi @Thierry,
You're right to be cautious, as termites can create little tunnels on brickwork to conceal their travels from one place to another. However, termite tunnels are typically made of more granular mud deposits similar to the image I've added below. I'm no entomologist but what you have there looks like it might have been created by a larger insect, perhaps a mud wasp. I've seen this type of nest a few times in my life, but I can't say I've ever encountered the creator. Is it just the area pictured, or is this part of a more extensive tunnel system?
A professional pest inspector will be able to tell you pretty quickly whether it's any cause for concern.
