Introduce yourself to the community

Welcome to your Workshop. It is great to have you as a member of the community. We encourage you to say hello and introduce yourself.

Please reply to this post and tell us a bit about yourself. Whatever information you feel comfortable sharing is fine.

You might like to tell us about your current D.I.Y. and garden projects, your work, your passions, your hobbies, your dreams, what you struggle with, what you hope to learn from this community, and/or your favourite ice cream flavour.

And for something truly revealing about yourself - tell us what you call a barbecued sausage served on a single piece of bread.

We look forward to your post and getting to know you. Thanks for joining the discussion.

@MosaicAvatar

Hi Kevin,

I'm so relieved that beautiful piece of furniture is a TV cabinet, it is really stunning although after seeing your best mate he probably deserves something so nice ha-ha

Sounds like you play the same games with Oliver as I do with Ruby telling her she probably needs smacking because she MUST be bad and she goes along with the game cowling ever so slightly as to not be sure still that's it's all a joke and then she jumps for joy and tries to catch her tail, although this behaviour does concern me just a teeny bit that such a clever dog would do this but it is her little quirk and once she does it, if I encourage her and tell her I'm going to pull her tail off, she does it more, makes me laugh at least ha-ha

I'm yet to have a good look at your site but had a quick peak and seems you are a very talented bloke as most blokes are like my hubby.

Look forward to seeing Oliver's new abode, hope it has some nice decals or similar on it like the TV cabinet!!

Cheers,

Barbara

Re: Introduce myself

RE - introduce myself to the Community
My Name is Christine ( prefer Chris ) and I am 59 yo .
I own my own very small one Bedroom Unit in a Village.
If something needs to be done , there is only me to do it , so I have decided to " have a go " .
My very First project is to Enclose my small Patio - that is attached to my Unit - with Special Cat Mesh - so that my 2 Rescue Cats can safely have access to the outside - fresh air and sunshine . I have measured everything, purchased a my materials - and yesterday a lovely man at Bunnings helped me to chose the appropriate wood and cut it to the lentgths I had worked out ( I just hoe my neasurements are right !! )
I will be starting to put it all together in the next week - little by little .
I am looking forward to following your projects and advice and learning - thank you muchly

Kind of a Big Deal

Re: Introduce yourself to the community

Hello Fellow Renovators and enthusiasts! Its exciting to see so many people share in the collective adventure of DIY. I do mainly cabinetry work in my spare time. Book shelves and rolling tv cabinets that my wife gently insists is not going in the bedroom. Like any bloke I've collected bits and bobs of information through the years concerning DIY. I've had good days and bad days as far as building goes. But in my past life I use to do kitchens and plumbing. I hope to hear from all of you and about your adventures in this land renovation!

@Chrissie35

Hi Chris, welcome to the commuinity.

I too have that attitude that  you have about giving things a go albeit I do have a hubby who's most helpful so allot of things that get done are done together.

I'm keen to see your cat enclosure when it's done??

Cheers,

Barbara

Re: Introduce yourself to the community

Hello Community!

Never knew you existed. Glad I do now. We did a knock, down, rebuild about three years ago and I’m still landscaping. Have done a lot in that time: retaining walls, paving, large concrete slabs, gates, screens, pergola (side of house shed), glass pool fencing and more than 60 sq metres of decking. I’ve still got heaps to do and still so much to learn. Have done a fair bit of DIY inside too. I enjoy it. In fact would have considered it a vocation but I’m getting on a bit now - the mind is willing but it takes a toll on the body. Am no good at painting - I like to build stuff and move on. Am hopeful to learn a heap from the community. Sausage on bread - I’ve always called them ‘champions’!; as in straight off the bbq .... “get these champs into you”. Thanks, Allan

Re: Introduce yourself to the community

Totally forgot about the sausage. Its serviet you can eat!
