Hi everyone. I’ve recently purchased a house and the walls are cracked throughout. It looks like steele is exposed??? Is this just a standard plaster repair or harder? Thanks! 😊
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @brookecuth. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about repairing cracked plaster.
Congratulations on purchasing the house. I trust it's an exciting time for you.
Those are some reasonably extensive cracks; what did the pre-purchase building inspection report show? From your pictures, it's hard to tell how extensive this issue is and whether the structure needs to be assessed. However, a cosmetic fix should be relatively easy. It requires digging out all the loose material from the cracks and filling them. It would be best to use a tape to reinforce the repair when plastering over. This handy Gyprock CSR 1.5kg DIY Rapid Plaster Repair Kit comes with everything you need.
