Hi- Theres a chip out of the inside rim of my nice Indoor ceramic planter. The missing piece is shallow, and about 2cm x 3 cm. I think I could build it up ok, but don’t know which product would be best. The planter is bright white.
All suggestions welcome!
thanks,
Judith
Hi @Judith2,
I would suggest that Selleys 50g Knead It Multi Purpose Epoxy Putty - Multi Purpose would be the most appropriate product for repairing this chip. Although this product is white, it's not going to be as shiny as the ceramic. You could possibly paint a little superglue on the repaired area to give it some shine.
I don't suppose you have the chip? If so you could use Clear Araldite glue to re-position it.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
Hi Mitchell,
Thanks so much for your speedy response! I’ll try it.
unfortunately I don’t have the chip, so I’ll need to build the surface up a bit.
Will it need sanding once it’s dry?
thanks!
J
Hi @Judith2,
Yes, it is going to need a little bit of sanding once dry to get it to match its surroundings.
I'd suggest using fine-grit sandpaper such as this Flexovit 115mm x 1m 240 Grit Painted Surface Sandpaper to sand the Knead It, ensuring you follow the contours of the planter.
Once sanded with the 240-grit, you may be happy with the result, but if you feel it needs a bit more work, you could go over it with some Flexovit 100mm x 1m 400 Grit Wet And Dry Sandpaper to get it perfect.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
Thanks Jacob. Will do!
cheers,
Judith
