How to paint inside a house?

I want to start practicing painting.

I found this device here:
https://www.bigw.com.au/product/unimac-740w-hvlp-electric-paint-sprayer-gun-diy-spray-station-tool/p...

I think that is a good product to use for doing the internal of the house (2.4 m Ceiling Height by 4 m Wall Width).

Looking for some feedback/alternative product suggestions.

Re: How to paint inside a house?

Hi @SPP,

Starting with a brush and roller is often the best first step when learning to paint. These tools provide more control and are perfect for mastering techniques before moving on to power painting. If you're already comfortable with hand application, a spray gun can be a good way to achieve even coverage, especially for larger wall areas or to speed up progress when painting an entire house. I wouldn't recommend a paint sprayer for smaller walls or repair jobs.

As for the paint sprayer you’ve linked, since it isn’t available in our range, I’m not familiar with its specifications or performance details. However, we do have a selection of high-quality paint sprayers at Bunnings that would be well-suited for your indoor project.

One great option is the Wagner Flexio 590 Spray Gun, a versatile sprayer that can handle a range of interior and exterior painting tasks. It has an adjustable spray nozzle for control over coverage, which is ideal for your wall dimensions. Alternatively, the Ozito Power Paint Spray Gun is another good choice, designed with adjustable flow control and a lightweight build that’s great for DIY beginners.

Make sure to prep your space by covering floors and nearby fixtures to avoid overspray, and ventilate the area well.

Let me know if you need any guidance on choosing paints or primers suitable for indoor walls.

Re: How to paint inside a house?

Hi @SPP,

Just thought I'd add my thoughts to Mitch's comprehensive reply.

Painting is something that almost anyone can easily do to transform their home. I would encourage you to grab a high quality brush and a high quality roller, invest in quality paint, and I'm sure in no time you will be getting great results.

The guide How to paint like a professional is a fantastic starting point with lots of helpful tips.

One of the best things about painting is that it is forgiving! As a beginner, if you're not happy with the finish on a coat, you can always give the wall a light sand and apply another coat and it will usually end up looking terrific!

I would encourage you to back yourself and have a go.
