So my cat has been using out bathroom door frame as a makeshift cat scratcher, I bought some wood filler, filled and sanded it as best I can but I didn't expect it to dry so light?
What can I use to make it look like the rest of the wood?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Welcome to the community @Rickmallory. Many thanks for your question.
We have a fantastic range of interior stains which you will find helpful in changing the putty's colour. They will also change the colour of the surrounding timber so try and isolate it to just the putty. You'll find a timber oil will help darken the putty significantly also. A good indication of whether oil will assist is to wet a small section of the timber putty, if it changes to a similar colour of the surrounding wood there is a good chance it will assist in blending.
Often internal timber is coated with varnish and it will be difficult to get a great match with just a wood filler alone.
If you need further assistance or have any questions, please let me know.
