How to install new LED downlights?

Hello experts

I have bought LED downlights like the one in the picture (brand CLICK). They come with a plug. These are to replace the old lights in my alfresco area. The old ones have an external transformer which looks like hardwired. Sent a picture.

Do I need an electrician to add a socket to the wires that will enable me to plug in the new down lights?

Re: How to install new LED downlights?

Hi @premmas,

Yes, you will need a licensed electrician to install a socket so you can safely plug in your new LED downlights. Since your existing setup is hardwired with an external transformer, an electrician will need to remove that and install the appropriate socket connection.

It's important that you do not attempt to modify or work with any 240V wiring yourself, as this can be extremely dangerous and is legally required to be done by a professional. If you’re unsure, it’s always best to consult with a qualified electrician to ensure the installation is done safely and in compliance with regulations.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
