Hi community, I have a 100cm round net swing ready for install minus the attachment needed for the ceiling. I'd like to install attachments in the living area as well as outside underneath our level 2 bedroom. The 2x ceiling attachments will allow us to attach the net swing indoor or outdoor depending on the weather. However, I'd prefer an attachment that only moves forward and backwards (no sideways movement) - the net swing has two ropes on either side of the swing to cater for this. The project is for our autistic child (roughly 40kgs). He doesn't sleep at night and has a severe noise sensitivity so we can't always get him to the park to meet this particular sensory seeking need. Any help with how to install the swing and what attachment is best would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @strawhats,
Since you’re looking to limit movement to just forwards and backwards, you’ll need to install two attachment points, as shown in the image on the right.
The best type of attachment will depend on what’s at the end of the swing’s ropes. If they have carabiners or loops, I’d suspect that Zenith 12.7 x 140 x 10mm Zinc Plated Eye Screws secured into sufficient structural timber would work well. You can attach the ropes to the screw eyes with Bailey Fall Protection Steel Karabiners. However, given the weight being supported, I’d strongly recommend getting a professional to install the swing. They will need to assess the timber and ensure it is strong enough to support the additional load so that everything is secured safely.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
