How to fix gap underneath external sliding door?

IMG_7920.jpeg

Hello

I have some large external sliding doors which unfortunately have a gap underneath them. They are not sitting directly on the concrete which has caused them to be uneven which in turn causes the doors not to open correctly as it’s basically just hanging there.

I was looking for suggestions in levelling and sealing up the gap below. Should I put under the door frame long strips of timber cut to the correct height to level it out and then pack it all out with some quick set cement?

I would greatly appreciate all suggestions. Thank you!

Hello @joshu96

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your sliding door.

If your door was installed by your builder or a third party, I suggest asking them to come back and re-install the door properly or at the very least fixing the gap underneath the frame of your door.

Would it be possible for you to post a closer photo of the gap with a ruler beside it so that we can tell how big the gap is. This will give our members a better idea of the size you are trying to fill. We can then make recommendations on how to fill the gap. Generally, I would recommend Selleys No More Gaps, but it would be better to see the gap first so that we can be sure that our recommendations work.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Eric
