Re: How to fix door cut to size?

Hi @Samara1

"Builder told he cannot replace this door and i have to buy a new door so he can cover the installation cost."

The builder will tell you what he wants, it doesn't mean he is in the right. Inform him you consider him in default and won't be authorizing any more payments till the matter is resolved and that you are happy to take the matter to court or arbitration whichever he prefers but you do not accept his position on the matter. see how much he is willing to spend on either interest or legal fees to hold his ground! Simple fact is unless he threatens additional costs for delay, you have nothing to lose as it was his appointed contractor who caused the additional cost to replace and if he forces the matter simply tell him you will abide by the contract till completion and then take the matter to court!

Edited to add, the small claims court may hear this and it is very cheap to take it there and neither party is allowed legal representation. A magistrate will listen to both sides and make a decision and you get costs if you win! Most companies will cave in rather than spend the time and effort to fight the matter because the time they spend costs them more than they are fighting for. I have only once ever got to the point of issuing a summons (for an aircon motor that died after 14 months) and they caved 3 weeks before the court date!

Re: How to fix door cut to size?

Like @EricL  - I would not have noticed until pointed out to me.

But to my eyes - more disturbing is that cascade of various spaced lines seeming more random as we descend - looking from the front?

Are they just strong wood fibres?

@Noyade

I think those extra lines are the grain of the timber pieces. I hadnt noticed that until you pointed it out either :smile:
