How to fix corner stacker door bottom frame height?

My corner stacker door (double glazed) bottom frame height is 40mm above the level of finished indoor tiled flooring

I feel 40mm is too much and will stub the toes.

Any solution to fix this issue please.

Re: corner stacker door bottom frame height issue

Hi @Samara1,

There are quite a few threshold ramps that could be used here, but that might not be the look you're going for. 40mm is reasonably high, so it would be hard to soften that without some type of ramp or slope that extends out away from the bottom frame.

Let me mention @Dave-1, @Nailbag and @Noyade to see if they have any thoughts.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: How to fix corner stacker door bottom frame height?

Morning @Samara1

Looking at your pic I am wondering if you have any flooring down yet? Maybe the height is to cover, carpet, tiling or floorboards?

A ramp maybe be an option but think I would trip over it more so then the 40mm height as is now. A low landing could be a solution such as Say a Mat sized section of floor boards or even a rubber sponge mat from bunnings cut down. (cant find the link :surprised: ran out of time before mornos lol, will have a look later. Its the recyled rubber mat that you see used on hard surfaces and outside sometimes, its about 10mm thick.)

Re: How to fix corner stacker door bottom frame height?

Hi @Samara1

I solved a similar issue by getting a custom mat made by this company. It gives an easy transition from floor level to the top lip of the slider frame. It's available in a range of colours and looks nice in the home. But it's not the only place doing this type of thick mat that doesn't look like a Gym one. Just Google thick rugs/mats.
