Hi
We are about to start cladding the front of our house in James Hardie Primeline Heritage.
It is a brick house I have used 35 x 70 studes on their sides fixed to the brick.
I would like to use screws to fix the planks but not sure what type.
I see hardie do the Hardiescrew but it is 41mm so too long.
Any help would be greatly apreciated.
Phil
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @firemansam. It's great to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing Hardie's Primeline.
Here's the technical installation manual for Primeline. For a timber frame, it is recommended to use Paslode 30 x 2.8mm 2kg Galvanised Clouts. There is no screw option for timber framing. The Hardiedrive screws are designed for metal framing.
You could, of course, choose to use standard screws at the correct length to suit your timber studs. However, this will compromise your warranty on the product as it deviates from the manufacturer's installation requirements.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
