1) Will the Fan need separate switch to ON/OFF/Speed eventhough it comes with Remote
2) how about combining the ceiling fan switch with existing light switches as well as dimmers.
So single wall switch plate keeps the wall looking cleaner and less cluttered.
Hi @Samara1,
Thank you for your question regarding fan speed control switches.
Remote fans have the benefit of not needing a switch or speed control on your wall and can operate solely by the remote. This means that no additional plates or wiring are required which keeps the wall uncluttered.
If you did want to install a switch and the remote fan is compatible with one, then it can be combined with the light switch panel and your electrician will use a multi-gang switch such as the DETA Single Vertical Switch - 4 Gang. It is possible to replace the switches on multi-gang switch plates with dimmer mechanisms such as Deta 200W Universal Electronic Dimmer Mechanism, however you should speak to an electrician prior to purchasing any products for advice on compatibility.
It is also important to mention that any electrical work like this must be carried out by a suitably licenced professional.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
