I recently purchased a wood heater from Bunnings and I am having trouble finding someone to install it for me.
I am considering having a go at it myself and just wondered how difficult it would be for a novice handy person in his 60's or alternatively can some one suggest an installer in the Perth hills area
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Hazbean54. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing a wood-fired heater.
All wood heaters need to be installed in accordance with the Australian Standard AS/NZS 2918 and must comply with the manufacturer’s instructions and the Building Code of Australia. You should contact your local council to check on building regulations, local covenants and any required permits.
Even if the new heater replaces an existing one, it is strongly recommended that you get the heater installed by a qualified professional, such as a plumber licensed for solid fuel heating installations. As a novice handyperson, I would not suggest you attempt the installation yourself. It's not worth risking your safety and the safety of those around you. Also, the installation needs to be signed off by a qualified professional for insurance purposes.
You might like to look towards services such as Airtasker for installation. Please ensure that the installer selected is qualified for the job.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Mitchell,
I wasn't keen on doing it myself but was having trouble finding an installer.
I have listed the job on Airtasker and will wait for a response.
