Hi everyone,
I am laying hybrid floor in the garage that I am converting into a music studio.
I am worried about moisture coming up through the concrete floor.
The hybrid floor has rubber on the back but I was also thinking of laying builders plastic down first.
I wanted to know if this was a good and if so what type of plastic to use and also what tape to join it together.
The space is about 15 sq meters
Thanks!!
Hi @ChrisA,
Are there existing issues where you see moisture permeating from the concrete slab's surface? If not, and since Hybrid flooring is a waterproof product, it's unlikely you'd need a plastic sheeting underneath. You could choose to use one if you wish, and Builder's plastic can be joined with jointing tape. Alternatively, you could consider coating the concrete with a sealer.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
