We need to paint bare metal door frames. All original paint has been removed back to metal. We tried using Dulux Maximum adhesion undercoat but it comes off
What would be the best primer to use on the bare metal thanks
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Gavin63. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about painting a door frame.
It would be good to get some more details on how the primer is coming off. Dulux Maximum Adhesion Undercoat is designed for metal and tough-to-paint surfaces, so it should be adhering well. Are you seeing peeling, flaking, or an issue with adhesion when applying the topcoat?
If you're looking for an alternative, you could try White Knight Rust Guard Medium Grey Metal Primer, which is specifically formulated for bare metal. You can then follow it up with White Knight Rust Guard Gloss White Epoxy Enamel Paint as the topcoat for a durable finish.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
