Re: Aluminium Metal cut service

Hello @Brijesh

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about cutting aluminium.

The first option of course is to cut the aluminium yourself. You need to use a hack saw to cut the aluminium. My best advice is to draw a cutting guide on the surface before you start cutting. You can also try your local men's shed and see if they are willing to cut the aluminium for you. The only other source you can try are friends and family that might have a power tool with a steel cutting wheel attached.

Please remember to wear personal protection such as gloves, goggles and a mask when cutting aluminium.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: Aluminium Metal cut service

Hello EricL

Thanks for your response. I got a hacksaw from bunnings & gudie to cut but it's laborious and I can't hold it steady.

One of my friend got power tool but it's not working.

I have lost my patience and am ready to  pay for it to just get done. Does any of the bunnings offer this service (Bunnings port Melbourne) or can I hire metal cutting tool from bunnings? Or any other metal fabricator?

Can I simply go to any Men's shed and assume they would have a power tool?

Thanks,

Brijesh

Re: Aluminium Metal cut service

Hi @Brijesh,

Unfortunately, this is not a service that Bunnings offers.

Aluminium like this can be cut with a mitre saw. There are specially made Aluminium Saw Blades that will make light work of this. If you have a friend with a mitre saw, then this is the correct tool and blade to use.

Alternatively, any carpenter or handyperson should have the tools and know how to do this. You might like to advertise the job on a service such as Airtasker or Fiverr.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Jacob
