Most of our popular projects are small and achievable – demonstrating that you don’t need a huge budget or years of D.I.Y. experience to get on the tools and start improving your house or garden.

The top 10 most popular projects shared this year (by pageviews) were:
1. Small backyard makeover by @marliemakesit
New porcelain pavers, garden beds, thoughtful planting and a bench seat helped transform an unused space into a garden oasis perfect for relaxing and outdoor entertaining.
2. Mediterranean-inspired outdoor renovation by @LaCasaDIY
A light and bright transformation to create a huge outdoor area where you feel like you are always on holidays. Light terrazzo tiles and white paint were cleverly utilised, while upcycled furniture kept costs down.
3. Laundry reno with Kaboodle cabinets and benchtop by @theDIYedit
Winner of the best bathroom or laundry makeover in our D.I.Y. July competition, this renovation featured new cabinetry, timber benchtop and striking tiled splashback.
4. Mobile workbench with storage and drawer by @adriano
Making the most of limited space, a mobile workbench provides a solid and transportable work surface and plenty of tool storage.
5. Custom industrial-look outdoor table by @ogosh
A very achievable weekend project, this custom-built outdoor table was built using sienna-coloured Pine sleepers for a sturdy industrial look.
6. D.I.Y workshop build with workbenches and storage by @RatBoy
New interior plywood walls were installed for a comprehensive garage workshop makeover. Pegboards, drawers and cabinets provide ample tool storage, and there’s enough workbench space to cater to any project.
7. Large home office desk by @Simon
Utilising a hardwood Birch timber panel and Rapidmesh black furniture legs, this weekend D.I.Y. project was considerably cheaper than buying a desk and looks fantastic.
8. Backyard transformed with planter boxes and seating by @Nidge
Raised timber planter boxes with built-in seating helped turn a previously bare backyard into a lush, inviting outdoor space.
9. Bedroom picture ledge with VJ panel wall by @TheRenoDad
An attractive and practical addition to the bedroom, this VJ feature wall features a handy Pine ledge and lifts the whole room.
10. Solar house number by @Del26
A clever and creative little project. A Dremel rotary tool was used to cut numbers in a PVC pipe painted using a spray can and topped with a solar-powered garden light.
