Hi, i want to install outdoor blind from my roof fascia to the fence what type of screws or bolts(self locking) should i use that can hold the blind into the fascia?
Hi @kritin,
A fascia board isn't a structural member, so it's not designed to support the weight and loads that an outdoor blind will place on it. Attaching the blind directly to the fascia could lead to damage or failure over time. You’ll need to secure the blind through the fascia board and into the structural roof members behind it.
These roof members are typically located every metre or so along the fascia, and you may be able to spot the fixing locations where the fascia is attached to the roof members.
For the fixings, you’ll want screws or bolts that are long enough to penetrate through the fascia (about 25mm thick) and into the structural members. A 75mm screw should be suitable for this. The diameter of the screw will depend on the size of the holes in the brackets for the outdoor blind, so once you know that you can select the appropriate size. If you can share the bracket details or let me know the hole size, I can suggest a specific type of fixing for you.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
