How to install gutter downspout extension?

  Hi

so my house used to overflow sometimes in high storms we installed a new gutter downspout to stop this

And put a bottom pipe to let water go down away from foundation to the lawn

is this setup is fine and good ?

or not good ? And i have to dig and get someone run a pipe to the other downspout near the second window?

Re: gutter downspout extension

Hi @Ak100oz,

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

Ultimately, what you've done is better than having the water discharge so close to your foundations, but it would certainly be better to have it connected to a stormwater pipe.

As this is plumbing work that requires a licence, you'll have to contact a plumber for assistance with this.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Re: gutter downspout extension

So I get a plumber to get a pipe run to the other downspout after second window and hide the pipe under the mulch and no need this small pooling issue anymore?

Re: gutter downspout extension

Hi @Ak100oz,

Does the second downspout connect to the council stormwater system?

If so, then yes, this would likely be the best way to go.

If it doesn't then you should have this downspout connected to the council stormwater system.

Either way, you'll need to speak to a plumber, who should offer the best solution based on the specific location of your pipes.

Re: gutter downspout extension

Sounds good @Ak100oz.

Keep us in the loop if you need any advice, but your plumber should be able to talk you through everything.
