Hi I am wanting to cut, sand and paint this trellis and use it as a privacy screen for my verandah.
I'm wanting to know what are the cheapest tools that will be able to cut through and sand the pine.
Thank you!
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @karlie2502. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about cutting trellis.
For cutting and sanding pine, the most affordable options to get started would be a handsaw and some sandpaper. A handsaw will allow you to make clean cuts, while sandpaper will help you smooth the edges and surface of the wood before painting. You might also like to pick up a sanding block to wrap the sandpaper around.
If you’re looking for a slightly more efficient option, you might consider a jigsaw. This tool makes it easier to cut the trellis and it's also useful for other jobs where you're cutting curves and intricate shapes, and it’s still relatively budget-friendly. For sanding, a detail sander can save you time and effort.
Once you have your trellis cut and sanded, you can finish it with paint to match your verandah.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
