Hello
I'm looking at building a corrugated iron and timber raised vegetable garden, as in the attached photo. Would be about 2500mm long, 900mm tall and 1125mm wide.
I've just been struggling to find an appropriate timber product for the framing that is not arsenic treated
I don't plan to dig the posts in to the ground, but instead to just sit the whole frame on top of the ground (if that works), as in the picture.
Just wondering whether the 90mmx45mm terraframe product would be sufficiently strong for this purpose, or if I need to find something of more than 45mm in thickness?
Also welcome any other suggestions for a suitable timber.
Thank you
Cody
Hello @ifitaintboak
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your raised garden project.
If you are worried about using H4 arsenic treated timber, I suggest using 200 x 50mm Sleeper H4 Sienna MicroPro 2.4m. Australian grown Pine Microshade Sleeper sourced from managed forest plantations. It's used in landscaping and retaining wall applications - Termite resistant treatment suitable for use in vegetable beds and Children’s play areas. It uses a copper-based preservative to protect the timber from insect attack.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
