Re: What screw is used to mount ProtectorAl easy screen fixing brackets to a decorative panel?

Hi @CarlL,

Thank you for your question about what screws to use when mounting ProtectorAl decorative panels using ProtectorAl 25 x 20 x 80mm Black Easy Screen Fixing Brackets.

I'd suggest using these Otter 8 x 16mm Black Button Screws. They have low-profile button heads, are black to match the fixing bracket and screen and will be perfect for this application.

The only downside is they don't have a self-cutting tip. You should be able to drive them into thin metal without a pilot hole, but if you're struggling, putting a small pilot hole with a Full Boar 3mm M2 HSS Drill Bit will help.

Alternatively, you can use Buildex 10G x 16mm Night Sky Metal C4 HexHead No Seal Tek Screws, which have a self-cutting tip but their head is not as low profile.

Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Jacob
