What's causing the leak from guttering?
Hi, I recently hired people to clean the gutters but despite this, something is causing water to leak from the gutter to the outdoor patio. What could the problem be and how do I solve it? The guys who came to clean the roof did not identify a leak even though I showed them photos from before. Thank you.

Re: What's causing the leak
Hi @hf,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
It would be very difficult to know what the cause of the leak is without seeing the gutter from above.
There could be a gap from the roofing to the gutter that is allowing water to track underneath the gutter and down the fascia, or the gutter could be installed without the necessary angle to flow as it should. Unfortunately, it would be impossible to say from the images provided.
If you have a ladder and are comfortable taking some photos of the gutter from above, our members may be able to identify the cause of the leak.
If you are not comfortable working at heights, you will likely need to contact a roofing plumber for their assistance.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Re: What's causing the leak
Crazy as it sounds - but I tracked something similar on my corrugated iron roof all due to the cohesive forces of water droplets. Low pitch roof and when it rains rivulets/drops backtrack, under the corrugated iron a few centimetres and then flows between the back of the gutter and fascia...
I should add - my 'solution' was with multi-grips bending a 'spout' end in the corrugated troughs like a kettle. Gravity grabs the water better - no backtracking.

Re: What's causing the leak
Hi,
Thanks for responding. The roofing plumber identified 2 issues - cracked roof tiles and something else (sorry, I can't remember what that is). He applied sealant to solve the second problem, and will return to replace the roof tiles as I did not have any spares at home. Fingers crossed these solutions work.
