Hi Guys,
Just hoping to get some advice on my side gate. I’m hoping to build a a wooden Merbau gate 1800mm x 1800mm swing gate. My main concern is the post. One post will be dug on the soil while the other will be placed on a concrete. I’m hoping to put a 100x100mm treated pine. I want to put a post base on the concrete. Is there any product that will be able to hold a 100x100x2000mm post on to the concrete which is about 100mm thick?
We have a hebel wall and I’m trying to avoid fixing it to the wall.
Thank you for any advice!
Best regards,
Ronaldo L
Hi @Ronaldo,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your questions.
I'd suggest using this Pryda 100mm M12 Bolt Down w Raised Mount Post Anchor to attach your post to the concrete. It raises the bottom of the post slightly to prevent rotting from water pooling at the base.
Use Ramset 12 x 70mm Galvanised DynaBolt Plus Hex Nut Bolts to attach the post anchor to the concrete and ZENITH M12 x 120mm Hot Dip Galvanised Hex Head Bolts and Nuts to attach the post to the anchor.
Let me know what you think and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
