Hi there.
I am going to attach a treated timber trim in between timber fence post and pailings gap.
Looking for bullet head nails with around length of 20mm.
Should I use steel nails or galvanised nails.
I tried to find 20mm galvanised nails in bunnings but was not able to.
Please advice. Thanks
Hi @josan123,
Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
Being outdoors, galvanised nails are a must. 20mm is a very short nail and I'm only aware of these PowerFit 20mm C1 Series Electro-Galvanised Brad Nails which are fired from a finish nail gun.
You can separate individual nails from the strip and hand-nail them, but because of how thin they are there's a good chance you'll bend a few. If you want to sink them below the surface of the timber, so they can be concealed by filler and painted you'll have to use a nail punch.
There may be a more suitable nail that I can recommend if you can advise the thickness of the timber trim and what it is being attached to.
Let me know what you think and if you have further details to add, let me know and I'll advise further.

Thank you so much Jacob for the quick reply. I will get some galvanised nails in that case.
