We just recently had our exposed aggregate concrete driveway done and we have not included the concrete sealing. May I ask for your expert help to advise us sealing products option we can apply. We are looking at the wet look finish. But may I ask if the wet look is a better choice as well.
Thanks in advance!
Hello @billy_gretz
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about sealing your driveway.
A wet look sealer can enhance the colour of your exposed aggregate driveway, but high-gloss finishes can become slippery when wet, especially on a driveway. If you want that enhanced look without compromising safety, a penetrating or film-forming sealer with a satin or semi-gloss finish may be a better option.
For a gloss finish, Crommelin Wet Look Paving Sealer is a great choice. This solvent-based sealer enhances the colour of the concrete while providing strong protection against weathering, stains, and UV damage. It’s suitable for driveways and long-lasting, but it’s important to consider adding an anti-slip additive to improve safety.
Also, there is Crommelin DiamondCoat Paving & Concrete Sealer which is a solvent-based option that provides excellent durability and protection. It comes in various finishes, including satin and gloss, so you can choose the level of shine that suits your preference.
Regardless of the product you choose, make sure your driveway has fully cured for at least 28 days before sealing. If you opt for a high-gloss finish, consider using an anti-slip additive to enhance traction and improve safety.
