Tips for chipped rendering (that damn line trimmer)

Hi, looking for help on how to best fix chipped rendering caused by me being overzealous with the line trimmer (pics attached).

Location is a front of house pillar with the rendering coming right off (pics below)

@Hi @AV88

I would use an  artist kit  paint  with aryilic  paint and mix black and white to make a  gray  closest to your gray  render and  just paint over it.

Not  alot more to be done If you wish use  some aluminium plate  or checker plate to glue onto the post so the line wont hurt it into the future as it is hard to snip the  grass blades close to the  render.

Hope this  helps.

Re: Tips for chipped rendering (that damn line trimmer)

Hi @AV88,

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

Have you got any of the paint that was used handy or do you need to colour match this paint?

If you need to colour-match the paint, try to locate the chipped render. You can take it in-store with you so the team at the Paint Desk can colour-match it. If you can't find the chip, break off a piece roughly the size of a 50-cent piece. Don't worry; we will be patching it, so there's no issue doing this.

While in the store, I'd suggest grabbing some Polyfilla Exterior Brick and Render Masonry, Pro Renovator 75mm Plastic Scraper and colour-matched exterior paint if you need it.

Give the filler a good mix and wet down the wall in preparation. Once you're ready, apply the filler with the plastic scraper, doing your best to match the surroundings.

Wait for it to dry then paint it.

Let me know what you think and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Jacob
