Support the Red Cross Disaster Relief Appeal
Our thoughts are with the many communities across Australia experiencing these devastating bushfires.
A fundraising BBQ will be held at all Bunnings stores across Australia and New Zealand (where conditions allow) on Friday 24 January to support the Red Cross Disaster Relief Appeal. From today we’re also accepting monetary donations for the Red Cross in-store and online.

Re: Support the Red Cross Disaster Relief Appeal
@Bunnings Great idea. The residents and local communities, our hero firefighters and beautiful wildlife need all the support and help we can offer. I hope a valued lesson can be learnt from this devastation. For our government to listen to those impacted and involved, so they understand what changes need to be made which will help our future.

Re: Support the Red Cross Disaster Relief Appeal
@Bunnings - Great idea, but I wonder if your could source some links for people to donate for Wildlife Rescue? What with all the money that’s being raised, it seems that the animals could do with some extra help too.
I wouldn’t presume to posts, links on your thread, but if you’d like me to source some, I’d be happy to do that, cheers Deb

Re: Support the Red Cross Disaster Relief Appeal
Workshop members should feel free to post links to any worthwhile causes by replying below, Deb (@Mathy).
I just gave a donation to Wildlife Victoria - https://www.wildlifevictoria.org.au/ - while I know many in NSW would like to support https://www.wires.org.au/ and there's https://www.faunarescue.org.au/ in South Australia, https://wrq.org.au/ in Queensland and https://www.fawna.com.au/ in WA.
Thanks for your support.

This is a tough story to read - https://www.theage.com.au/national/many-many-billions-of-animals-feared-to-have-died-in-bushfires-20...
Here's some other worthy causes:

Re: Support the Red Cross Disaster Relief Appeal
@Kermit - it’s all distressing, but I find the animals the worst. I’m waiting to hear how the Kangaroo Island Wildlife refuge is going - they’ve stayed to defend 700 wildlife rescues - they can’t exactly evacuate 😔

Re: Support the Red Cross Disaster Relief Appeal
Awesome stuff, I'll be in to buy a snag or two!
For those in Queensland I found out there's a way that you can donate directly to your local brigade.
We've been on evacuation standby a few times now this season as we're right near the Peregian & Weyba fires you may have heard about, came to just under 1km from us, so are very thankful for the work of our local teams.
Our daughter Amber has been busking the last few weeks at Eumundi Markets and all the money she's raised she's donating to our local brigades
Up to over $600 now!

Pass on our congrats to Amber @Adam_W, that's amazing. It's been really inspiring to see everyone's generosity and community spirit recently.
