Pool area makeover with crazy paving

My old pool area had treated pine decking which was cracked and splintered. It also had a bar which blocked off the undercover entertaining area. I knew from old photos there was slate underneath the decking. I decided to pull up the deck and restore the slate and remove the bar to open up the space.

Re: Pool area makeover with crazy paving

Hello @DIYJT11

What an outstanding transformation! From being so closed off to having such an open and relaxing feel is just fantastic. The slate restoration is superb and using the white grout really enhances the slate finish. My main focus is on the opening of the deck area. Now that the bar has been transferred to the side it no longer looks so restricted.

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful makeover.

Eric

Re: Pool area makeover with crazy paving

Thank you @EricL. Agree, removing the bar and opening the deck has made such a big difference and allows us to better use the area. I actually just took delivery of the Mimosa Madras corner lounge setting which will further enhance the area once the weather warms back up.
