Hello,
I am looking to start building a low-level covered deck on brick pavers and need someone help with below points-
Please note I am based in Perth.
The area is covered under colorbond roof and not exposed to direct sunlight or water.
I am looking at a L shape Decking arrangement. I am still to work out the total length but was looking at Ekodeck 137 x 23mm boards with 70mm x 45mm H3 treated Pine as that is the minimum size i could find.
1) The deck meets the house on two sides, one being 110mm clearance and the other 100mm, so I decided to keep the deck height to be flush with 100mm. To do so, I have decided to use 70*45 treated pine joists sitting on galvanised brackets with about 10mm ground clearence. Is the 70*45 joists good enough ? If not, what option do I have so my final deck height doesn't exceed 100mm?
2)Also there is a pool nearby could that be an issue.
3)Weep holes of bricks would get covered under the deck . Will that be an issue ?
4) Also there is some gap between wall and paver/s bricks which i was planning to fill with Gap Filler Rod and Selleys 440g Sandstone No More Gaps Bricks And Mortar Gap Filler but will that block the weep holes and could that be an issue? Note- Pavers and bricks were just pressure cleaned and sealed yesterday.
