Is this acceptable in façade? Capping used under JH Cladding in Façade
Builder told they finished the rendering part first before installing this JH cladding.
Now they installed this JH Cladding but I can see capping added below which does not looks good.
Hi @Samara1,
There are two elements that need to be considered here. What doesn't look good and what doesn't comply with building codes (is acceptable). To establish if something does not comply with building codes you'd need to engage the services of a private certifier. They can ensure that the building meets relevant standards. These standards are very in-depth, and you really need someone who specialises in that area to comment on whether there is an issue here.
The second part is what doesn't look nice. You need to discuss this with your builder to determine whether there are any conditions in your contract that require a certain level of finish. Unfortunately, if the cladding is installed to codes, you can only discuss whether the builder could do things differently to improve the look.
Regarding your question, given the angle and description, I can't really tell what's going on with the render, cladding, and flashing. Perhaps asking the builder the purpose of the flashing will provide some insights into its use.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
