How to turn off water main
Morning everyone! Would anyone on here know how to turn off this type of water main? There doesn’t seem to be any of the usual handles I’ve dealt with previously. Thanks in advance!

Re: How to turn off water main
Hello @clovercore
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about your water meter.
Your observations are correct, generally speaking this type of meter usually has the shut of valve either right next to it or has one before the elbow. I propose running your line trimmer around the area and tracking down the pipe work. It's possible that the plumber has placed the valve before any of the turns and has been buried in the soil. Another possibility is that they have placed the shut off valve in its own inspection case a little bit further before the meter itself.
My only other thoughts are the shut off has been moved all the way to your house. If after searching and you still can't locate the valve, I suggest engaging the services of a licensed plumber to either locate or install a new shut off valve for your home.
Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1 and @Nailbag for their recommendations.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: How to turn off water main
Afternoon @clovercore
The case of the missing tap.... Is your house the only house on the property? If it is then I would be having a look at the suggestions that @EricL has supplied. If it isnt the only house onthe property then maybe someone has put that inline so they could "charge" the renter the usage off the main bill? It does seem strange that there is no isolation tap for the meter. As it would have been needed to work on teh rest ofteh house originally.

Re: How to turn off water main
Hi @clovercore
If your house is part of a body corporate there will be a master valve at the front of the property. Otherwise if this is a standalone home, then a licensed plumber will have to arrange for it to be turned off at the mains connection with the local water authority. Once off, he could install an isolation valve for you
