How to seal concrete driveway?

Hello Community,

Good day!

I have an existing concrete driveway that I am looking to seal using a sealer. I have already cleaned the surface using pressure washer and have let it dry.

Just when I was about to purchase a sealer, I came across normal sealers and 'exposed aggregate' sealers. I am not very sure about the type of concrete finish I have.

I am attaching some pictures taken at different locations of the concrete driveway. It looks to be a mix of plain vs aggregate but can someone from the community help identify the type of finish and help with choosing the correct sealer.

Thanks a lot for the advice.

Regards,

Tsada

Re: Driveway sealing - question about type of concrete driveway

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @TSada. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about sealing concrete.

I apologise for the delay in my reply.

It looks like like your driveway has a mixed finish of plain concrete and exposed aggregate. To ensure the sealer works effectively across all areas, I suggest using a product like the Crommelin 10L Clear DiamondCoat Exposed Aggregate and Polished Concrete Sealer. Sealers designed for exposed aggregate are typically versatile and capable of adhering to both porous concrete surfaces and exposed aggregate, providing a uniform and durable finish. This product should meet your needs and ensure consistent protection and aesthetic appeal across your driveway.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell

Hi @MitchellMc

That really helps in knowing the type of finish and the product to use. Thanks for the advice.
