How to repoint exposed aggregate pavers?

I want to repoint my outdoor pavers..they are exposed aggregate( I think this is what they are called) so not smooth. I'm currently grinding out the old mortar..but I  don't know what to use on these pavers because they arent smooth and i don't think I can slosh anything over the whole lot like I've seen videos of with smooth pavers.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Re: repointing pebblecrete pavers

Hi @hrpaul,

Thank you for your question.

I'd suggest using SikaCeram CleanGrout. Mix it up in a Flexi Tub, and apply it to the gaps with a Ezitile Jap Style Grout Float.

Push it into the gaps and then clean up any overflow with a damp sponge.

This will give you a nice clean finish with minimal cleanup required.

Alternatively, you can brush Cemix 20kg Pavetight Sand into the cracks, vibrate the pavers with a plate compactor to make it settle tightly in the cracks, then lightly wet it down to lock everything in place.

Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Jacob
