How to replace my bricked in letter box?

Hi, I need to replace my letter box I got home from work today and found the front of my letter box had been ripped off the measurements are roughly W 260mm x H 165mm x  L 355mm just need some advice if there is a product that can fit in the hole.

I just came across this thread as my letterbox front was just stolen. I think they are after the brass as it was 25 years old. Now I need a solution and I was wondering if you might be able to assist? Happy to pay for anything you can help with. Thanks Mel

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your letter box.

Let me tag @Noyade to make them aware of your inquiry. There are a few letter box fronts that might work with the space of your concrete letter box. The Sandleford 203 - 500mm Brick In Letterbox Sleeve is the default body of most of the Sandleford brick in letter box sets. The fronts although bigger in the front are actually clipped onto the letterbox sleeve. An example is the Sandleford Black Chalice Brick Insert Letterbox. Please remember to double check the measurements of the space to make sure it fits.

Did you construct this from a kit? I think I see liquid nails with the vertical walls?

Let me know what you wanna do.

In the meantime, just a thought using square tube steel to fit the rebated areas with a steel plate front.

Afternoon @Melway7 

When I saw the two edges you have inside your letterbox I thought "Maybe Bunnings have an 9off the shelf pruduct"? Do you have the dimensions by any chance?

Sandleford 160 x 235mm Aluminium Brick-In Letterbox Set as an example of the idea. (There are nicer ones I am sure Just depends on the sizing you have.

Then use 

Selleys 415g Brick And Concrete Sealant to glue either inside side of the box to those vertical edges that stand out a bit.

Hey @Noyade, thanks so much for replying.  I couldn't work out how to log back in so its taken a week to see this reply.  I love the idea and look of what you have shared. I didn't build the letterbox, it came all assembled but when the thief ripped out the brass front it has broken away some concrete.  I'll check out the off the shelf options but I think I'm leaning to a bespoke option (if possible) so let me get back to you shortly.  Thanks again.

Hi @Dave-1 thanks for your thoughtful reply.   I couldn't work out how to log back in so its taken a week to see this reply.  I will get some measurements and see what off the shelf options there are.  I have limited ability to modify something so it would need to be a perfect fit lol.  Appreciate the info on the glue.

Hi @Noyade I have measured and remeasured and it appears to me that none of the off the shelf option will work without a fair bit of tweaking (something I don't have the skillset to do unfortunately).

If you are still willing to help I'd love a bespoke one from your skilful hands.  I have included the specs, they are pretty close to the mm so you might want to shave a little off for adhesive(??).
