How to replace Marquee umbrella winder?

We have a Marquee Umbrella on which the winder handle has broken. I've ordered a replacement through Special Orders and am trying to see how to remove the broken one. Any assistance appreciated?

Re: Marquee Umbrella Winder replacement

Hi @Nige1,

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

If you could upload a photo of the winder handle, this would help me to troubleshoot the issue. Let me know if you need a hand uploading images, I'm more than happy to help if required.

I imagine there will be a screw somewhere, possibly concealed by a cap somewhere around the location where the winder handle attaches to the frame of the umbrella.

Look for any circular seams that look like they conceal something. It is likely a cap that can be popped off with a flathead screwdriver to reveal a concealed screw.

Let me know how you go.

Jacob

Re: Marquee Umbrella Winder replacement

Hi @Nige1,

The three recessed screws within the holes on the side of the handle module would likely be the best place to start. Once undone, they'll likely allow it to come apart and give access to the handle and what's retaining it inside the module. There might be a clip or nut that needs to be undone to release it.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
