I am thinking to repaint all my outdoor deck and railings but not sure where and how to start because of having zero painting experience. I would appreciate if anyone here answer below queries.
1. what is the best Camilla for pre paint wash such is auger shop etc?
2. Do I need to apply primer in all surfaces or only where existing paints are faded area?
3. what is the best out door primer in Australia?
4. how many coats require?
thanks in advance
regards
Derek

Re: Repainting outdoor deck and railings
Hello @nareshbista
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about repainting your outdoor deck and railings.
In this particular instance, I suggest sanding down the deck and the railings and removing the old paint. I recommend using a For Hire: Orbital Floor Sander to make it easy to sand. Once the floor and rails have been sanded back, I recommend using Cabot's timber colour, it is designed for decks and does not need a primer. The same paint can be used on the railings. A minimum of two coats is advised when painting your deck.
Here are some handy step-by-step guides:
I also suggest having a look at this discussion - Deck strip, sand and oil by @DIY_Dan.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
