Re: Refresh deck
Hi @eloise89
Your deck looks ready for a new coating as it looks dry and possibly free of surface oils applied in the past.
If you know it has being oiled in the past then it is recommended the same treatment method be used as other deck treatments wont work on top of oil bases Like the cabots Easy deck wont work properly only water based products used previously.
But plenty of great decking oils out there Find the ones that say Nateral and or clear as some have stains /tints mixed in.
Cabot's 4L Natural Decking Oil I/N: 1523576 $88

Or use some thing like below lasts 2x longer they claim
Cabots 4L Aquadeck Natural Exterior Decking Oil

Re: Refresh deck
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @eloise89. It's fantastic to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about oiling a deck.
I agree with @Jewelleryrescue—it's definitely time to oil the deck. You can use the Cabot's Easy Deck applicator to make the reoiling process more straightforward and efficient. It's a great tool for evenly applying oil and getting a smooth finish. However, the Easy Deck product is designed to go over existing water-based oil coats. So, if you are unsure or if it is an oil on the deck, then it might be best to apply Aquadeck to your deck, and then in the following season, you can use the Easy Deck.
Make sure to clean the deck thoroughly first, removing any dirt, grease, or old coatings that might prevent the oil from penetrating properly. Once the deck is clean and dry, you can apply the oil using the applicator, working along the grain of the timber for the best results.
Here's a helpful step-by-step guide: How to oil your deck.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
