Hi Guys,
I recently purchased a Makita DUR368L Line trimmer.
I have tried to install the line in the head as per the Makita instructional video below. (Makita Australia Video)
18Vx2 Brushless Line Trimmer - DUR368
In line with some of the comments on the video, my line will not go through the holes in the head, and it is still unclear how to fill the head with line.
Could you please advise how to refill line, and or advise if there is a replacement head upgrade available that is straightforward and easy to use.
Thanks,
Lee
Hi @Lee777,
Apologies for the slow reply. One of our resident Bunnings D.I.Y. experts will assist as soon as possible.

Good Afternoon @Lee777
I dont have that model of edger tho at the 1:21mark of that video it shows the line being fed down the hole. It looks like as he pushes the plastic down from his right while standing over the edger itself. He also twists the plastic as he pushes it (An old trick I use running cables as well as it helps stop the pointed end catching so easily) He then twists the end to fill the head by the look of it.
The only thing I can think of suggesting is to alighn the head the same way he has in the video, so you are standing over it, the two orange squares are horizontal to your eyesight (Maybe if its off center the holes move) and make sure the dial has been twisted anti clockwise from that position. That could also help with the alignment of the holes. Straight after he manages to feed the orange cord in he twists the end knob. Im wondering if in the process of you getting it it has been twisted a little so when you feed the line it jams?

Hi @Lee777,
Apologies for the slow reply.
There are other compatible heads which can be seen in the manual on the product page - DUR368LZ-18Vx2 Brushless Loop Handle Line Trimmer - but I believe the issue should be easy to fix.
Have a look at this video from Makita Australia - Easy Feed Nylon Head.
Also, here is the page from the instruction manual for this particular line trimmer head.
It sounds like the issue could be that the arrows on the spool don't line up with the eyelets on the head before you attempt to feed the line through.
You also need to make sure you are using 2.4mm line. Anything thicker than this in diameter may have trouble.
Give this a try and let me know how you go.
