How to protect galvanised steel?
Hi. I am about to purchase a new galvanised 7 x 4 trailer. I am wanting to protect the galvanised surface as best I can from water and other contaminants. I understand there may be a clear coat that is suitable for this kind of use. Can you advise me on the best product for this application please.

Re: Protecting galvanised steel
Hi @Johnburrill,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
I can't say I'm aware of a clear coat that is suitable to go over galvanised steel.
I understand wanting to protect your newly purchased asset, but I don't think there is any real need for an additional coating. Typically, the galvanised coating is the protective coating and there is no need for additional protection over it.
If you find the galvanised coating is getting scratched, you can always use Cold Gal Spray Paint to recoat the metal.
Let me know what you think.
Jacob
