Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop @James91. It's marvellous that you've joined us and many thanks for your question about material pricing.
The first issue to overcome will be that this project is using imperial measurements. As we use the metric system, everything will need to be converted in order to price it. Unfortunately, although we can directly convert these measurements into metric, with some considerable effort, they won't necessarily match up with the timber available here. For instance, the project calls for 2" x 4" x 8'. This directly converts to 5.08cm x 10.16cm x 243.18cm. What they are after, though, is 5cm x 10cm x 240cm. The closest equivalent to that in milled timber is 4.5cm x 9cm. The closest equivalent could be worked out for every item on your list. However, you'll need to find out whether using the closest equivalent will alter the entire project so much so that you can't follow the instructions anymore. This is a common issue with plans based on imperial measurements when only metric based timber is available. For simple projects, it might just be an issue of spending some time working out what material could be used instead, but for a complex project of this size, it would be a very time-consuming process.
If you could tell us what the project is, perhaps some of our members might be able to suggest some plans based on metric measurements for you.
