Fourteen years ago had a boundary rendered block wall built and installed powder coated aluminium slat panels (Colourbond
Jasper). With the passage of time, most of the gloss (semi-gloss?) has now gone and the paint faded, especially in sections getting the full force of the westerly sun. The paint is not peeling or flaking and in otherwise good condition. How do I go about spraying these? Suggestions for paint. Do I really need a primer?
Hi @andrewcw,
Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is brilliant to have you with us.
When repainting metal, a good quality metal primer is a must. I'd advise something like this Dulux 300g Metalshield Etch Primer Spraypak Light Grey would be a good option for you.
You could then paint the slats with White Knight Gloss Squirts Spray Paint in a colour of your choosing.
Remember to tape off the surrounding areas to avoid overspray and to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment, specifically a mask or respirator.
Let me know if you require further assistance, I am more than happy to help.
