HI,
Which chemical would be best to give a burnt effect or random torn effect on clothes? I am looking for a non-bleach chemical. Have tried acetone/ipa/ethanol/turp but no impact. I m not looking for any tools. Only chemicals. Thanks
Hi @billooo,
Could you provide us with some images of your inspiration for this project? Once our members have a better idea of the look you're going for, I'm sure they'll be better placed to offer informed suggestions.
Chemicals such as acetone pose hazards such as high flammability, inhalation risks, and skin irritation. It is crucial to handle acetone in well-ventilated areas, away from ignition sources, and with protective gloves and eye wear. The rest of the products you're using are also highly flammable, and I'm a little concerned since I would assume you are igniting the clothes after using these products on them. Please don't take any risks that could harm yourself or those around you.
You'd likely be able to simulate the same result by using a combination of tearing the fabric with some type of tool and using paints to achieve the browns and blacks seen when fabric is charred.
Take care, and let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
