I purchased an automatic water dog bowl feeder. Essentially when it is filled to a certain level the water cuts off and won't feed through anymore water until it drops to a certain level. This puts pressure then back on the tap which is causing the connection between the tap and the brass fitting (red/pink tape in the photo) to leak. I have a washer and tape wrapped around it and have tried everything but nothing stops it. Any ideas?
Hello @Joelk1234
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your tap fitting.
The Pink Teflon tape you've used is dual purpose for both gas and water. I propose removing that tape and getting a dedicated tape just for water such as the FIX-A-TAP 12mm x 8m Blue PTFE Thread Seal Tape. I recommend wrapping the tape at least three times at the start and four times when you get to the top. Brass fittings will sometimes have poor tolerances and more tape is required. If the leak continues, I also suggest using a much thicker tape such as the FIX-A-TAP 12mm x 10m Grey PTFE Uniseal High Density Thread Seal Tape.

Thanks heaps Eric!
I tried the blue tape but had the same problem.
I'll try the grey tape next.
If that fails any other suggestions?
Hello @Joelk1234
Yes, the next step will be to use BOSTON 50g Liquid Sealant. This is a liquid seal that seals gaps between metals, this is often used by plumbers when dealing with difficult to seal fittings. Another step you can take is to install Kinetic Stainless-Steel Filter Washers - 2 Pack so that you'll get full contact between the outlet and the brass reducer.
