I have recently replaced the barrel lock into our Lockwood security door. The cam is in the right position however the centre locking hook will not go back in the lock housing as it stays out and does not allow the door to close. The door can be closed by using the handle but when opened the hook extends all the way.
Hello @albybruce4
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your door lock.
Would it be possible for you to post a photo of the lock's current configuration. This will give our members a better idea of its position and the type of barrel you have installed. We can then make recommendations on how to proceed.
If you need a hand posting the photos, please let us know.
Eric

Hi @albybruce4,
It looks like you have a Lockwood 8654 Hinged Security Door Lock.
Looking at the Installation Manual, I suspect the issue is related to Step 2, where the lock body is inserted into the door in the factory set deadlock position.
I'd suggest you remove the lock body itself and follow the above guide for installation, ensuring the lock body is set in the deadlock position when it is inserted.
Assuming you follow the instructions closely, the lock should operate as intended.
If you follow these steps and the lock still doesn't operate as intended, then there may be an issue with the lock itself, which would require replacement.
Give this a go and let me know how you get on. I am happy to assist further if required.
