Dear Team,
We purchased the latest Alfresco Plus Kitchen with a Matador Ignite 4-burner. The Alfresco BBQ module has the airframe.
When we placed the BBQ into the designated location, we noticed that the BBQ does not stand solid, it shifts sideways and the legs twist. It appears that the gaps between the BBQ and the airframe are too wide. There is an infill of some sort missing. In addition, there is no way to affix the BBQ to the BBQ module (the airframe). This all feels very unstable. This cannot be the final fix.
Secondly, there is a huge issue with the electrical cable and gas hose location being right at the front (!) clashing with the fat tray. There is no way to direct the cable and the hose to either side (as there are no holes in the frame) neither side or down as there is the fat tray. How is that good to be installed???? See attached pictures.
Did someone at Bunnings and/or Alfresco plus test the assembly?
Finally, the BBQ hood cannot be fully opened as it clashes with the back wall of the kitchen - the hood in fully opened position sticks out, beyond the rear end of the back of kitchen bench.
Did anyone else encounter that issue?
It would be great to get some advice here. We have already flagged the issue to the Bunnings special order team. But I thought, it would be helpful to let the community know.
I believe we still have the issue of the wobbling Airframe. I'll reach out via private message to see if the team at Matador/Mayo have been able to assist and if not what the next steps would be.
Mitchell
You can purchase the extension cable from Bunnings as its just a low voltage setup similar to the garden lighting.

When you put it in you need to look up underneath where the display panel is, there is a metal cover that you can feed it through and run to the other side. This keeps it out of the fat tray. Then I zip tied it to the gas line and ran it through the hole in my bench.
Hi Mitchell,
yes please, if you could arrange the metal cable ties that would be great. Waurn ponds is my closest store.
I am assuming Matador has dispatched the extension cable.
cheers Craig
Hi @britt_craig,
I've sent Matador a request for the cable and they will be sending it out as soon as possible.
I've let Morgan, a team leader at Bunnings Waurn Ponds, know about the cable ties, which she is happy to supply. Before heading down, it might be an idea to give the store a call to ensure she is in.
Mitchell
Thanks Mitchell, appreciate it.
Hi Mitchel,
thanks for the explanation and graphics.
In my view, and I tried to force the hose around the corner, that's not an acceptable solution. In addition, the BBQ body is still swaying, even after I made the recommended adjustments, and finally, the screws which are use to fix the subframe (great tray and legs) is not of good quality.
We received a call from Cairns Special orders, offering a full refund and pickup (initially for the entire kitchen - that's not what we want as the kitchen is great - the issue is the BBQ), and now waiting still for a call back. We would like to return the BBQ and the Alfresco Plus BBQ module - and replace it by another BBQ and BBQ Module.
Due to the Easter break, we have not been able to decide on the BBQ yet, but we will be going ahead with a replacement.
Cheers, Neil
That's understandable @Neil_k. Keep in touch with the Bunnings Cairns Special Orders team, and I trust they'll be able to assist with whatever you choose to do.

Hi Mitchell
We recently have had to replace our edge Bbq after the hood glass exploded after a use. We purchased the Ignite as a replacement and have been facing the same issues and were about to return the item after going back to the store where we purchase and confirming with staff our findings were correct.
in addition the previous unit was plumbed from the left and the new units are plumbed from the right as such we now find we need to move the previously drilled hole and the bottle to the other-side in the Alfresco unit.
Can you please provide the same fixes and an extension pipe so we are able to repurpose.
as with Neil we are also finding the leg issue as well with the unit not sitting steady.
in addition the side of the alfresco has changed colour from black to copper any ideas?
look forward to you response
thank you
jeff
