How to fit a gas cylinder inside 6 burner Matador kitchen set BBQ?

 Hi

I got the special order outdoor BBQ kitchen set and I have installed myself. However I am unable to fit the 8.5kg gas cylinder inside the cabinet and am not sure what other gas cylinder will fit. Strange as the cabinet beneath does have a circle marked to place the gas cylinder, but the normal 8.5kg gas unable to fit it. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @rishi4u. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing a gas bottle.

Trying to troubleshoot your issue, I notice in the manual that it depicts a carrier under the bottom of the bbq. Can you please check to see if that is there? It should be a couple of straps crossed over each other. If it is, this would indicate to me that the circle you are seeing is not a place to sit the bottle but more so a cut-out that needs to be removed before inserting the bottle. Is that area flimsy at all, and can the circle be popped out?

Hi @Nufc1955,

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

The Matador Spark 6 Burner Gas BBQ has a cylindrical cut-out in the base with two metal brackets that cross over underneath this cut-out to hold the gas bottle.

If there is a specific reason this isn't possible, can you upload an image so I can see what you're dealing with?

Let me know if you need a hand with this, I'm happy to help if required.

You should be able to just slightly angle the gas bottle while lifting it into place in this cut-out.

Let me know what you think.

Jacob
